About our 25th conference
The theme of the 25th VBH conference was “a life worthy of the calling“. The conference took place from 23-25 October 2015 in a former halls of residence in Liptovský Mikuláš. Traditionally , VBH conferences used to take place there, especially in the 90s. For gradutates this was a place of nostalgia, wheras for students it was a new place. One of the aims of the conference was for our students to be able to get to know graduates and former students who used to meet up in their groups. Graduates could see that groups they used to be in are still alive and they have carried on in spreading the gospel throughout various generations.

Talks and debates on current topics with Dr. Peter Payne
The theology department in Banska Bystrica invited Peter to lead a session on ‘Evangelism to Sceptics’, on the morning of 25th March. It was an opportunity also to build a greater awareness of the VBH group and encourage the students to invite their non Christian friends to the evening event.

TeoTest - help with evangelistic conversations
I find the GodTest (TeoTest - Slovak translation of the GodTest) probably the most helpful and encouraging tool for evangelism. In my experience, it's been an incredible facilitator of starting a conversation with strangers or people you wouldn't normally be bold enough to approach with evangelism. One of the greatest advantages is that it eliminates any discomfort, hesitation, and stress one usually feels about evangelizing - due to:

Project "Ponorka" (Submarine)
Students in Banska Bystrica are engaging the university by holding debates on themes to do with philosophy, ethics and community. Two speakers of opposing views are invited and the students are given the opportunity to ask questions and debate. It is an opportunity to challenge the thinking of non-Christian students as well as to teach Christian students to be able to give a reasonable answer for their faith. Please pray that this would be a place where students come to know the real hope of the gospel.

How to pray generally for VBH - IFES Slovakia
Over the past few months we have been very encouraged to see God at work in the lives of students in our country. Here are a few of these things you can praise God for.
- Praise God for a great time of fellowship and training in our leaders training weekend in February. Praise God for the enthusiasm of students and their willingness to grow in serving the Lord in their universities.
- Praise God for the opportunity 3 students have had to visit a mission week in Wales and for all they have learnt through that experience. Praise God that they have come back with lots of enthusiasm for doing something similar in their universities.
- Praise God for the blessing of being able to work together as a team and for all we can learn from each other.
We are looking forward to seeing what God will continue to do this year. Here are some things you can pray for.
